Blue Light and Eye Health
Blue light is part of the visible light spectrum. It affects our sleep, as the sun’s rays contain blue light that signals to our brains whether or not we should be awake. If overexposed to blue light, the human eye may develop cataracts or experience retinal damage.
Some tips for avoiding blue light-related damage include:
- Viewing screens from an appropriate distance
- When looking at a screen, take a break every 20 minutes to focus on something 20 feet away for 20 seconds
- Talk to your doctor about blue light glasses
No Glare Lenses
If you experience blinding reflections while driving in the dark, you may be in need of no glare lenses. These lenses are anti-reflective and specially designed to increase the amount of light entering your eye in the dark. No glare lenses can be critical for remaining safe while driving at night and can be washed with soft soaps or approved cleaners.
Protective Eyewear
Protective eyewear is essential for maintaining your safety on the job site. They can be important for mechanics, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and more. Although we recommend planning ahead while on the job, and eliminating potential hazards, you can always feel confident in your protective eyewear when all else fails. Call (715) 536-3250 today and we can help you pick out the right kind.
